Under FHWA’s Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) retroreflectivity requirements of traffic signs, California’s cities, counties, and regional transportation agencies are responsible for maintaining their signs to a minimum level of retroreflectivity and contrast levels.
To help local agencies meet these requirements, Caltrans and Sacramento State are offering a Retroreflectometer Loan Program. Under this program, local agencies will have access to retroreflectometer equipment at no charge for up to four weeks. For your convenince, the units may be shipped right to your agency.
